26The most common box
A 26ft box truck dispatcher for loads that actually fit
The 26-footer is the workhorse box truck, and the one every broker posts for. As your 26ft box truck dispatcher we book freight that fits the floor, the weight and the doors, negotiate the rate, and plan the reload before you are empty.

01What fits
What freight fits a 26 ft box
A 26 ft box is about 26 ft long and about 8 ft wide inside, which takes about 12 standard 48x40 pallets single stacked. Bodies vary, so check your maker's spec sheet or the 26 ft box truck dimensions guide.
Weight runs out before floor on heavy freight. On a truck rated 26,000 lb, payload is often roughly 9,000 to 10,000 lb, but only your scale ticket tells you yours. Try a load below.

Liftgate freight
Stores, job sites, homes and small businesses without a dock. More stops, more handling, often an extra charge on the rate con.
Dock-high freight
Warehouse and terminal to warehouse. Faster loading and longer runs. A 26 foot box truck backs up to a loading dock like any straight truck.
02Loads and lanes
Load types and lanes that work for 26-footers
LTL linehaul
Terminal-to-terminal partials, 6 to 12 pallets, often overnight. Dock-high both ends.
Retail and store replenishment
Distribution center to stores, multi-stop, liftgate at the back door.
Expedited regional
A full box that cannot wait for an LTL network. Good per mile, irregular.
Trade show and event freight
Crates and displays to convention centers on strict move-in windows.
Appliance and furniture
Bulky, light for the space. Liftgate and often inside delivery.
Reefer food partials
For 26 ft reefers: grocery and foodservice deliveries.

03Finding them
Why posted 26 ft loads go fast, and how we get them
Every 26 ft box truck in a metro sees the same posting at the same time. The broker books whoever confirms first at a rate that works. Owners who drive all day can't watch the board, so they get what is left.
We watch the boards and our broker contacts all day for your lanes, call within minutes, and already know your weight limit, doors and minimum rate, so we can confirm on the first call. Which boards list box truck freight, and what they cost, is in our guide to load boards for box trucks.

26 ft dispatch questions
How do I find loads for a 26ft box truck?
Search load boards with straight or box truck equipment and a weight filter that matches your payload, call brokers who post partial and LTL freight in your area, and build repeat lanes from good deliveries. Posted 26 ft loads go fast, so speed and knowing your minimum matter. Or let a dispatcher watch the boards and negotiate for you.
Is a liftgate worth it on a 26 ft box truck?
For most owners, yes. A liftgate opens retail, appliance and residential deliveries that a dock-only truck can't take, and brokers often add a liftgate charge. If you only run dock-to-dock LTL, you can do without one.
Can a 26 ft box truck use a loading dock?
Yes. Most 26 ft boxes sit close to standard dock height, so they back into docks and the dock plate bridges the gap. Very low or very high docks may need a leveler or a liftgate. Tell us your deck height and we note it in your profile.
Do you dispatch 26 ft box trucks without a CDL?
Yes. Most 26 ft box trucks are built at 26,000 lb GVWR so they can be driven without a CDL. We keep every load under that weight. If your truck is rated 26,001 lb or more, the driver needs a Class B CDL.
What does a 26ft box truck dispatcher do that a load board doesn't?
A load board shows you postings. A dispatcher calls on them, negotiates the rate, checks the weight and the appointment, sets you up with the broker, plans the reload and handles check calls and paperwork, while you drive.
