01Two trucks or more
What changes when you run 2+ box trucks
Reloads collide
Two trucks empty in the same city want the same load. Somebody has to plan who takes what.
Home time multiplies
Each driver has a different schedule, and a promise broken to one driver costs you the driver.
You stop driving
Booking for three trucks is a full-time job. Most owners either dispatch or drive, not both.
Paperwork times N
Every truck needs its own insurance listing, broker setups and PODs filed.
Numbers per truck
One truck can carry the fleet while another loses money. Without per-truck reports you can't see it.

02Fleet rate
Fleet rate and how it is applied
Add your trucks and a typical week for each. The board applies 6% per truck once there are 2 or more. Numbers start as EXAMPLES; replace them with yours.
Fleet board · this week · your numbers

| Truck | Weekly gross | Miles | $/mile | Fee | Remove |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $2.91 | $288.00 | ||||
| $2.92 | $249.00 | ||||
| Fleet total | $8,950.00 | $537.00 | |||
Fleet rate saves $89.50 this week vs 7% per truck (limited-time rate).
Full terms are on the pricing page. For a single week at either rate, try the dispatch fee calculator.
03Reporting
Weekly reporting per truck
Every Friday you get one report with a section per truck, so you can see which unit, lane or driver is carrying the fleet.

05Mixed fleets
Freight trucks and route trucks
Many small fleets keep one or two trucks on a daily delivery route and run the rest on freight. We dispatch the freight trucks and plan around the route trucks, so a route truck that frees up early can pick up a local partial. See final mile and delivery work for box trucks.
Onboarding a fleet works like a single truck, one profile per unit. Here is how our box truck dispatch works, or start with the box truck dispatch overview.
06Honest math
When a fleet should keep dispatch in-house
Outsourced dispatch is a percentage, so it grows with your fleet. At some size, an employee dispatcher costs less than the fee across every truck. Where that line falls depends on your gross per truck and what you would pay a good dispatcher, including payroll costs, load board seats and their time off.
Run it both ways with your own numbers. If you are close to that line, the fleet rate buys you time to grow without hiring, and the 30 day notice means you are never stuck when you are ready to bring dispatch in-house.
Fleet dispatch questions
How does the fleet rate work?
Once we dispatch 2 or more of your box trucks, every truck is charged 6% of its gross instead of 7%. It is a limited-time rate, written into your agreement. Each truck is still invoiced only on loads it hauled.
Do you dispatch company drivers or only owner-operators?
Both. If you own the trucks and employ drivers, we dispatch the trucks under your authority and talk to your drivers for check calls, with you copied on decisions you want to keep.
Can each truck have its own lanes and rules?
Yes. Every truck gets its own dispatch profile: lanes, home time, minimum rate, weight limit and equipment. A 26 ft liftgate truck and a 26 ft reefer run very different freight.
What size box truck fleet do you work with?
Mostly 2 to 10 trucks. If you run 11 or more, apply anyway and we will talk through how we would staff it before you commit.
